This was a tough septic tank system renewal in Kenthurst. Customer required a new septic tank, absorption pit and sewer lines in a new location to allow for an extension to the house.
House is built on solid sandstone with limited area for placement of the new septic tank and absorption trench. We required a 5 tonne excavator with jackhammer to hammer out a two metre square by two metre deep hole for the new tank, plus a 12 metre long by 6 metre wide trench for the new absorption trench. After placement of the tank and arch piping for the absorption pit, we decommissioned and pumped out the old septic tank, ran 50 metres of new 100mm PVC sewer pipe and connected the kitchen piping (which had previously run to its own absorption pit) to the new septic tank. The customer requested that we arrange some of the large sandstone boulders we excavated into a landscape feature which we were happy to do. After completion of the septic tank and sewer line installation, we jet blasted the old section of kitchen piping to clear it of any grease build-up.
